It was puffy, between 10 and 20 mph (in the gusts). You don't need much to go very fast.

Buy the board if you can find one. Freeskates are no longer made. The one that I'm on is home made, very easy.

Not at all!
The transition between windsurfing and Freeskate (icesailing) is seamless. Very easy and a terrific way to learn sailing skills.
