4 Paws Aviation - Supplemental Oxygen Supply for Dogs in Flight

4 Paws Aviation sells SUPPLEMENTAL OXYGEN SUPPLY SYSTEMS for dogs to owners of unpressurized aircraft. It is owned by Kent & Lori Carter. They are also owners of Precision Grinding & Sharpening Technologies in Warsaw Indiana. They've owned their industrial knife sharpening business for 17 years. Kent received his pilot's license in the 1980s and he and Lori owned a Cessna 182 until 1990. Once they started the knife sharpening business, all their capital went into Precision Grinding & Sharpening Technologies and unfortunately flying had to take a back seat until the company was up and running. In 2006 they purchased a Cessna 210 Turbo non-pressurized airplane. Since their pets are a large part of their lives and they took them everywhere they went, they started searching to find a way to travel with them above 8,000 feet. After extensively searching the Internet for an oxygen system for their dogs, the only thing they found was a crate that they would have to build ourselves. Since that wasnt a good option for them, they started researching other means of flying safely with their pets. They began their research by questioning their Veterinarian about the different effects of hypoxia in humans and dogs -- and found out that people react the same way their pets do.
After finishing their research, they developed what is now their "Supplemental Oxygen Supply Hood." Since no one else was offering this product, they decided to make it available for other people who love their pets, and want them to fly safely and arrive at their destination feeling fresh and alert.
