North Carolina NAACP President Rev. William J. Barber, II announced Saturday, September 25, 2010, that the NAACP has filed a complaint against Wake County Public School System with the U.S. Justice and Education departments.
National NAACP President Ben Jealous was on hand to support the announcement of the legal challenge.
Funny.... I just came from a PTA student awards event, where Cary High PTA awarded 600 students an award for having a 3.8 GPA or higher. Cary high like most Wake County schools participate in busing of students from other areas of Wake County. So, as I sat there and look around the room I asked myself where are the African American Students. I could count the number of African American students on one hand, out of 600 students. So tell Mr. Barber, how does this busing thing work?
