This is more worthy of a Keystone cops movie than the US Navy. I'll bet this was peacetime since if CINCPACFLT saw it, they all would be court martialed.

Thanks for posting this...I saw it as a 16mm film in the ready room while aboard Hanna in 1969.

Outstanding! Long live Naval Air.

I never thought I'd see this again! I lent my VHS copy to a friend who never returned it. The picture quality is really degraded from the original, which my Dad filmed with his 16 mm movie camera on a Westpac cruise on the USS Hancock (CVA 19) in 1955. Sam Shapiro is a spoof name--Dad's "nom de filme!"

What a spoof!
-
do you think Sam Shapiro had anything to do with this film? lmao.

You can get this on a DVD entitled "OFF LIMITS! Films the Military Doesn't Want You to See" from Periscope Film.

I guess the Navy could only get away with this in the 1950s! Funny stuff!

I saw this video on board the "Hanna" ,USS Hancock CV19 in the spring of 1975 on a westpac cruise. Thanks for sharing.

We saw this at TBS (Quantico) then spent 18 months elsewhere before arriving at P'cola for flight training. BIG THANK YOU PObermanns for getting this to the world.
Navy Air/Marine Air spooling up and landing hard!
You're most welcome! I just wish that my original VHS copy was better.
