Playing the arcade game Landing High Japan by Taito from start to finish flying the 747-481D. This arcade game was originally released in 1999 and is quite a rare machine nowadays. I was lucky enough to find a UK version of this machine on Ebay in excellent condition which I now own. The game requires you to perform one take-off and 6 landings at different airports which get gradully harder as the game progresses. Each landing is graded and you must attain a minimum score before being able to progress to the next landing. You select your departure airport and then each destination in whatever order you like with the weather and time of day being completely random, basically no two games are ever the same! The game is far more difficult than it looks and in full manual mode requires you to perform all functions including the basic flight controls, rudder, throttles, flaps and undercarriage.

  • hard landing...

  • @oky231

Any one you can walk away from ! ;-) Nah, for some reason I can never get a decent landing out of the 747 on that game, 757 and 767 always land a lot nicer. Will upload a vid of thoses at some point, they have very noticably different handling between the types....

  • sega airline pilots blows this game out of the sky!

  • I've played both games extensivly, SEGA Airline pilots has slightly better graphics but is far too easy and not really much of a simulator. Taito actually tried to make Landing High as realistic as possible and it shows in the handling of each of the different aircraft, it far more realistic than the SEGA game and considerably harder.

Depends what you want really, pretty and easy = SEGA, Realistic and challenging = Taito.

  • yea, the last level must be the airport at St. Martin

    tube it, pretty sketchy

  • That "Passenger" on the left doesn't appear to be a frequent flier. Nice Vid :)

  • Better mind you, the year before, SEGA went far enough to prevent Taito and that piece of eeeh! from beating 'em

  • Make more videos of this. This is really awesome.
