Chen style Tai Chi has more in common with Kung Fu than does Yang style Tai Chi. The Chen style features a more energetic performance, involving slow and fast, passive and aggressive movements punctuated by short pauses and explosive startups. This style is more appropriate for intermediate and advanced Tai Chi students, who possess the speed and flexibility to perform fast movements and leaps. This form is performed by Grandmaster Yong So of http://TaiChi-Interactive.com
Exactly. I attend two different schools, and the way they do Yang 24 is very different. Still, unless you are entering competition, every version is valid. Yong So, who created this Chen 36 video, did win a gold medal in Beijing in 1999, although it was for the sword 32 forms, so he is evidently quite knowledgeable regarding the forms.

you have to take into account that as styles are passed down, the forms can change either subtly or drastically. As long as it works; thats the only thing that matters.

Well, all I can tell you is that 36 means 36 forms and if it has more, it's not 36, but something else.

I believe this is a version of the Yi Lu form that doesn't go all the way to the end, not the Chen 36 competition form. At least, it looks a lot like my Yi Lu form which is very different from the Chen 36 I've learned.
