Szõke Mátyás and Zoltan Matra Királyleányka - 2007 - 9.4 - James Meléndez / James the Wine Guy

A native grape of Hungary-- don't let the spelling or pronouncation get in the way of enjoying a great wine--it is remarkably easy to pronounce and unbelievably easy to enjoy. Probably a combination of two grapes Kövérszőlő and Leányka. this wine should be in your wine vocabulary and in particular this producers version. this wine offers a delight combination of dryness balanced with high acid mid-range alcohol. Notes of pear and Calville Blanc d'Hiver apple (yes this specific apple)--which I have only found at the Greenmarket at Union Square in New York, hint of Meyer lemon zest, blanketed with a kiss of cardamom, cinnamon and almond. Great to pair with Asian fare and seafood.
