just a quicky on getting your dubstep bass in reason to wobble by itself. BTW it wasn't called wobble when i made this video, infact dubstep was almost still quite good when i made this video.

  • my vid has had more views than the skrillex talking bass tutorial which is the top hit! get in!

  • The random factor is definitely a valid point. However i personally would then go and bounce it down to audio, put it into logic and then cut the parts out i want to use. Obviously when its an audio file you have other advantages as well like reversing parts, looping small parts to make glitches, cutting and rearranging the audio to suit your needs.

    Nice tutorial and well explained

  • @Mwarren0717 indeed. a useful, creative and rewarding thing can be to setup loads of things to happen randomly, record it, then snip out the good bits and use them for further ideas. thats the main idea behind this video. this video seems so old now but its cool that people still seem drawn to it. i've tried so many things since then with bass, maybe i should do a more up to date video...?

  • @MrNedRush If you've got some more ideas that your willing to share then I would definitely check it out. I guess the video is getting a bit old now but like you said people are still checking it out. I just wanted to state a fact to some of the people who have left comments : "There's so much more to music than midi notes" lol. I am a fond user of reason but as a rewire application mainly, as soon as i can get midi bounced to audio the better, there's so much more you can do with it. Thanks :)

  • @Mwarren0717 well... watch this space i guess.

  • YOU SOUND LIKE MURDOC FROM GORILLAZ! CAN WE BE FRIENDS?! XD

  • @RollAnotherJ if you want.

  • @charliefriendofallah er.....no.

  • @charliefriendofallah btw i've learned the hard way for 15 years and if i knew how to do the things i wanted i might have actually broken the market and made it big. but i didnt have the internet so i had to ask questions, do research and learn. luckily people today who want to jump on the band wagon can and if its what they want then so be it. anyway, making wobble bass isnt even that hard. what i'm doing in this video is trying to encourage people to take the idea further, open a few doors.

  • T_T. WTH are that shit thing you are doing.

  • cool thanks! i must have spent 3 hours trying to make a DS WUBWUB bass the other day. i understood that i would need to randomly modulate my LFO rate, i just figured i could do it by automating the LFO rate. turns out i need that 2nd subtractractor to modulate it autonomously. who'da thunk it?

  • Is it always a random mix of speeds? I cant get a steady one for my track.

  • I don't get half the shit your doing. -.-
