I grew up watching Mack DM trucks in the commercIal waste industry from the early 80s & 90s back in LINY where I lived! I've seen a lot of them as roll-offs & esp in commerical RL applications! Mainly with LEACH 2R Packmasters & LEACH2R2s! Unfortunately, since I moved to FL, there're not to many down here for waste! But I've seen 1 or 2 as roll-offs for WM & 1 DM roll-off for WASTEPRO!!!!!

  • cool. where was he taking these bottles. btw they are crushed

  • Thanks! I think it's crushed glass bottles & jars & believe it's taken to a plant where they make glassphalt for the roads! Plastic & Aluminum containers are baled up & shipped to plants where they're ground up, melted down to either hve a 2nd life or other different products!

  • i didnt know you can bale glass

  • No, I ment the plastics & aluminums are baled & the glass are broken pieces known as aggragate! In NY, I remembr seeing the glass thrown off the conveyer into sperate pits after it's sorted into their color scheme which is brown, green & clear! I believe its clear glass in that bin which makes glassphalt! Don't know mch bout the green & brown!

  • anyone know how much torque these things have?

  • That's too bad. THey should try it here!

  • The problem is that it's not practiced that much due to high cost! It's only done in certain places! I've seen it in certain areas in NYC & now in certain areas in FL where I live now!

  • Your welcome. That's what I thought it was. Glassphalt, sounds interesting! Never knew it was made!

  • o ok.

  • Thanks! I strongly believe it's crushed glass beverage containers & think it's taken to a glassphalt plant where they mix glass with ashphalt! I remebr seein somethin like this up North in a Recycling Plant! Glassphalt I heard is suppose to be a stronger road ingredient than ashphalt!

  • Thank You!
