  • why do they always move/walk like that?

  • LOVE it

  • No, they aren't Geisha. My guess, they're regular townsfolk in Tokushima participating in the festivities. Geisha wear very distinctive kimono. Besides, the Geisha reside in Kyoto.

  • Wow! Lovely and joyful!

  • what's the drinking age in japan? and is it strictly enforced?

  • The Awa Dance Festival (阿波踊り ,Awa Odori?) is held from 12 to 15 August as part of the obon festival in Tokushima Prefecture on Shikoku in Japan. Awa Odori is the largest dance festival in Japan, attracting over 1.3 million tourists every year.

  • See the director in white tell one of the drummers to stay with the other drummer at 3:08. lolz very comical.

  • Is this connected with a certain holiday or festival?

  • ok its official. i want in. not just the dance all of it want to live there.
