@dave850 Actually it costs a lot more putting an inmate on death row than it does just letting him rot in prison.

When someone goes on death row it can cost the government more than 1 million dollars (per person).

Keeping an inmate in prison forever costs a few hundred thousand, i forgot the number but its still cheaper
