The fall of `69............hard to believe it`s 40 years..............I still feel this is one of the most imaginative and creative openings to a TV show in memory, and the music is very peaceful. Thanks for posting.

Have always remembered that exchange between Bronson and the Driver. Late '60s icon. The fevered restlessness of the 'War' on TV, the ongoing deciphering of what Woodstock meant and Neil Armstrong's "One Small Step". Forty years. Where did they go?

I'm 56...watched this show every week as a kid and I still live this way except I use a Corvette not a bike.... Never wanted to be the guy in the station wagon all be it I do have many friends now that use a Mini Van/ SUV..... don't want to be them either!

It was all about that dream of a freedom. Loved Bronson's James Dean like delivery.

Every guy needs to get it out of his system before the responsibilities of family and kids.Makes the inevitable easier to appreciate. My favorite show - it really hit the spot for a 19 year old.

The opening was done in the Pilot,however it defined the times and Bronson himself,a Free-Bird and a "Salaried" businessman. I'm sure the actor who played the businessman had NO idea,nor even the producers that it would open each show.....the guy got lucky with the SAG residuals.

Great show and Opening Pilot with the lovely Bonnie Bedelia. I never missed an episode when the show was aired. Michael Parks is terrific,too bad he had to inject his

James Dean/Marlon Brando Imitatiion,he didn't need it,but then again MANY actors of that generation went that Route.

Thanks for the vid. Wow 43 years huh? 115,000 views/old farts like me who still relish and feel those words, "Man I wish I was you." Maybe that's why I aimed to be like that. I've loaded up many a bike and logged a lot of miles on my way to wherever I end up I guess. Still trying to get there.

Michael Parks is most certainly still alive. He starred in Kevin Smith's last movie, "Red State".
