Fantastic, as you say it's mostly in the way he presents it, timing, working the audience, pausing so as not to kill the laughs, and varying the speed and pitch.
Amazing rare talent and no-one else now who can do this.

Foster Brooks is golden! Its not so much the material he presents as the way he does it. The over-the-top drunk delivery is priceless. The stammering and stuttering get me every time. I laugh so hard at these clips I'm crying.... just like Deano is....

To me,it doesn't matter if the responses were staged. Few things on television are truly impromptue. This was entertainment of the highest order,and it makes me laugh even today.

He was only acting drunk, but the way he exaggerated the drunkeness was truly amazing.

At one time he did have a drinking problem but he stopped drinking. His drunken act was without a doubt the best. You can tell by the reactions from the other performers that they considered him a fantastic talent.
He was from Louisville, KY as am I and he was crazy back in his younger years on radio and TV at the station WAVE.
To me he is a genius!
