Alright, here's my first video, it's about how to find what the protagonist looks like in BioShock.
I address two counterarguments that might come up, as well as supporting evidence for my own points.
My voice is a little nasal in the video because of seasonal allergies, so this is not what I sound like most of the time.

Update 1: About the question mark face; I believe that is the substitute picture that Ryan was using to represent Jack before he knew exactly what he looked like. When Jack arrived at Rapture and the security cameras took pictures of him, then Ryan put the ? picture aside and replaced it with Jack. That's why it is just hanging off to the side, not posted in a place of significance.

Update 2: Regarding Ryan knowing that Atlas and Fontaine are one and the same:
I was referring to how Ryan knew that Fontaine had purchased his son's embryo from Jolene as, and that Atlas is now controlling his son via "Would you Kindly". The wall and his dialogue shows his knowledge of the mind control procedures. Therefore, he knows that Fontaine and Atlas must be the same person due to the relationship to his son. Jack's ownership wouldn't have passed from person to person.
He wouldn't refer to Atlas as Fontaine beforehand for two reasons. First of all, he had a point to make about free will, waiting for you to encounter him in person before dropping the bomb. Secondly, it would have killed the twist if he revealed it for you from the beginning.

Thanks for watching!

  • hey man love your videos when is the next one coming

  • @silversnake3030 Hey, thanks for saying you like my stuff. I really am just awful at keeping my promises here. I'm a perfectionist and I won't be happy with releasing a video until I am really happy with it. So... I honestly can make no promises about the next one. I appreciate your patience though!

  • @ShiningOmega I understand how long its talking i had to read i bible as punishment in school but you know thats life

  • @silversnake3030 I don't quite understand how that's comparable. You must go to an awesome school if they punish you with the Bible! Lucky...

  • @shomenking121 No. Jack is Andrew Ryan's son, who was born in Rapture in 1958. Delta is Johnny Topside, a diver who found Rapture by accident in the 50's.

  • @EHHNURGEE Have you played through the whole game? Peach Wilkins implies it, Ryan implies it, and then Atlas comes over the radio and flat-out announces that he owes you a little honesty, and that his real name is Frank Fontaine. For the rest of the game, he taunts you about how he fooled you about that. How did you miss this?

  • Jack has those wrist chain tattoos are referring to him being a slave :O

  • @27t3rrySTR33T I doubt you've played the game all the way through. This isn't contested information. Andrew Ryan calls you his son, Tenenbaum tells you you were born in Rapture, Suchong holds a demonstration of you as a child obeying him, and then Fontaine just comes out and explains that he genetically modified you from Jolene's egg, fertilized by Ryan so you could interact with Rapture's genetic encoded systems.

Seriously, you should complete something before criticizing others.

  • @ShiningOmega he cant be related to andrew ryan because you see a couple of flashbacks with him and his parents. And he couldnt be borni in rapture because he discovers it in the beginning

  • @yubbone Hah, I appreciate that you found the video to be thoughtful. Yes, BioShock is quite beautiful and worth analyzing. Glad you enjoyed it!

  • Wait, doesn't Jack wear a white sweater?

  • You'd be hard-pressed to find a Call of Duty fan who pays as close attention or uses as much deductive reasoning. Not saying anything bad about CoD, but this video is definitely some evidence that intelligent gamers definitely appreciate the wild and morbid beauty that is Bioshock.
