  • @Thebibs Sad, but do only oldies go on these tours? I'd love to ride the Ghan or something from Sydney to Perth, but the cost is more than an overseas holiday! So unworth it. Plus if you went, you'd look and feel out of place with all the oldies there. (No offense intended towards the older generation. I guess they just love their nostalgic forms of transport)

  • @AusTVemporium There's always the option of taking Red Kangaroo class on the Indian Pacific or the Ghan ... the seating is quite comfortable and airline style, so it does recline enough to be comfortable when sleeping, and it is cheaper than getting a sleeper.
