JOHN SCHNEIDER SHOT AT WHILE IN ALABAMA

about 6:00 p.m., Thursday November 2, 2006

John Schneider and Stunt Coordinator Don Gilley were driving to the showing of COLLIER & CO. in Enterprise, Alabama, when they heard a gunshot and shattering glass.

Someone had fired at them on the road, hitting one of the three cars they are hauling for display at the movie theaters. The side window of the orange 1969 Dodge Charger stunt car was shattered.

Nobody was hurt. John made it to the sold-out showing of COLLIER & CO. in Enterprise, Alabama on time.

I met John on that tour at a drive in theatre near Talladega either that day or the day after. He seemed a little nervous and jumpy. I was one of the few adults that was in line to get his autograph. I was dressed in black with my black car and I stood and watched him sign autographs afterward while waiting for the movie to start. Every once in a while he'd look up at me and give me a weird look. He probably thought I was the shooter hahahahahahahaha

It was either Coy (Bryan Cherry) or Vance (Chris Mayer) that shot at John lol.

They're still mad at him & Tom Wopat for coming to their senses & returning to the Dukes in '83. John & Tom left Coy & Vance w/o a job although Cherry returned to acting in the Outer Banks, NC outdoor play Lost Colony (where Paul Picard discovered him in the first place before Cherry landed the role of Coy Duke.)

Thank god the bullet missed our Duke boy indeed, his country luck saved him.

Thank god the bullet missed our Johnathan Kent, something faster than a bullet must have deflected it into the car window instead. God bless you, Superman.
