@Mxlsptlk No, but I asked the same question when I studied Boyle's law in school :-P. The word "boil" predates Robert Boyle, and ultimately comes to the english language through the Latin "bullīre," meaning "to bubble," by way of old French "boillir" and middle (1250 - 1300) English "boillen" :-)

Is this why we say that things boil (Boyle)?

Can you imagine being Hooke? A whole undiscovered universe beyond the naked eye. One of the best aspects of humanity is its curiousity and it's desire, at all costs, to discover the truth.

Without organised religion humans would have been in space 300 years ago. Useless bronze age superstition has held mankind down for too long.
We have to end superstition before it ends us.
