Rocky Mount HS (NC) would be the band to beat during this time. I believe they won Nationals 2 or 3 years in a row during the early 80's..

we used to have chapters every year at Williamsport and competed against them 2 out of the 4 years I was in h.s. I was always so amazed at how good they ALWAYS were. I wish my h.s. could have had a great leader as well.

This is Williamsport, PA High School. I assume you are talking about the Blue Band from Williamsport, MD who, also had a great band in the 80s. I was in Carlisle and i remember them well ;-)

wow....I'm part of the whs blue band, class of 20012 ( i hope it's the same williamsport....)
I play flute in the band, and we hear about the original blue band and how the eighties were great, and how we're actually starting to live up to potential, but that is an amazing show! I don't think we could ever live up to that!

This was my senior year...I was the rifle captain so it is actually the class of 82! However, we were good that year too!!!!
