S4C were apparently the only broadcaster good enough to inform their viewers of imminent digital switchover at the Moel-y-Parc transmitter.
This infomercial appeared about 10 minutes before the analogue signal was switched off.

The other remaining analogue channels cut off with no captions, nor any other mention.
S4C was the last of the 3 services to disappear.

  • BBC1 Wales did a proper announcement followed by an appearance of the black & white BBC1 globe.

  • @realwales That was for the final closedown from Wenvoe - the Moel-y-Parc closedown (covered here) took place last year, and only applied to north-east wales.

  • Who is this woman?

  • @Jamiep84 Yes, I see that now, thank you. It's been a poignant night for Welsh broadcasting, but I'm glad the vast majority of people in Wales can now watch Channel 4.

  • Thank you for upload !

    ☆☆☆☆☆ from me...

  • Of course, at the time of writing, S4/C continue to show totally different programmes on their analogue and digital services - half of which we now can't watch. Thanks, folks.
