I just re-did this one. I didn't save the first try. This is one of my favorite tracks. Not easy to get under 1:17, specially with this car. A tip, rev op to 8000, that is 1000 in the red. Most people would shift before the red. Going in the red (with this car) gives you more HP, equals speed, equals time. As you can see, I use parts of the track where there is no grass, to give me a wide entry and plenty of exit off the corners. This car turns pretty bad in tight corners, I use the patches of dirt on the left before the third (right tun) corner to actually make the car slide (e.g., turn) a bit to have a good entry. When you exit the tunnel try to keep to the left as much as you can before that little bend where I aim for that patch of dirt again. There is a lot of time to gain in the two fast corners, the one in the middle (before the tunnel) and the one at the end. I try to get in those corners in 3rd gear, break and let the car do what it needs to do. The one before the tunnel I try to let it go straight, go beyond the corner, 2nd gear and then easy on the throttle, sometimes short shifting to 3rd gear. The last big corner is a lot of luck. 3rd gear in, easy breaking but also letting the car slide beyond (or in) the corner, back to 2nd gear. Again aiming for the patches of dirt. Then easy on the throttle again going for the finish. (Yeah, I almost lost it on that last straight to the finish!)
