  • Do you really have permission to distribute those games? Unless you've been in contact with the copyright owners, I strongly suspect you don't.

Also, how are you dealing with the infamous clause 3.3.2?

  • Well, its in the review progress, so we will see. But since we do only allow to download games which are permitted to use in a emulator, there are no copyright problems. But, a few of the best sinclair games, like Sabre Wulf, will not be available of course.

  • You've seriously misunderstood the legal position of Spectrum games: you have no right to use Batty on an emulator. The fact that Elite Systems haven't explicitly said "No" while Rare have makes no difference legally.

Certainly the developers of the well known C64 emulator weren't allowed to get anywhere near the app store until they had explicit rights for the games they were distributing.

  • Believe me,I understand the situation very well and with over 40 apps in the AppStore, its not the first time. I also agree that it's highly possible that this app will not pass the review, although we have done a lot during the review process to increase the chance, that it will be accepted. Discuss this in a public forum is not the way we do. So in worst case, we have a great personal toy with all our favored Speccy games, including Atic Atac, Knight Lore etc :) Good luck in your projects!

  • Is this *just* for the 3GS?

Please say the standard 16gb 3G can run it.

  • Oh, it runs on all models, but the perfomance is quite not good until now on the non 3GS models. If ZXGamer is available on the AppStore, then we will investigate time to let it run also on all other models.

  • Not good key positions.

  • Seems like a nice first release. If it was to be approved, I imagine it would be shackled to specific games and a download option (from WoS) or wherever would not be possible. Apple like to keep control over which games you are playing as emulators offer unlimited game potential for a single fee.

The controls look awkward for many games.

Text adventures could be great on the iPhone.

Worried that it needs a 3GS though as the 3G should have plenty of power if 18Mhz GBA can run at 100%.
