The 58th annual convocation was concluded with singing of AMU Tarana on June 18, 2008. "Majaz" or "Majaz Lakhnawi" who's original name was Asrar-ul-Haq, was the poet who composed the unforgettable Aligarh Tarana and music has been composed by Khan Ishtiaque. The Chief guest of 58th annual convocation was the former President of India, APJ Abdul Kalam. Wipro Technologies Limited chairman, Azim Premji was also invited to grace the occasion. Both of them were conferred with an honorary degree of Doctor of Science (honoris causa).

@abdullahmjmc Assalamualaikum...Jazak Allah Bhai 4 replying me..I'm 5rm Tamil Nadu Madrasi...But I'm fond with AMU..During my school day there is lesson of SIR SYED AHMED KHAN SAHIB.My Abbajee was school priciple,he often told me some stories of SIR SYED.When he was studying in college in Tamil Nadu, but Muslim College there was Audotorium by name SIR SAYED HALL..Even I'm working in C.ABDUL HAKEEM COLLEGE in Melvisharam..Many of my lecture are 5rm Aligarh..My desire is 2 come.Dua for all Ummat
