So, why waste your time? Who is forcing you to watch? What have you contributed? It is easier to criticize than to create.

i love all the simple tutorial and informations. but most of the infos provided are for SLR. I need info in regards to my Casio FC100. I want to use some sort of cheap diffusers or lightsphere. ANy suggestions?

I have a question, I have a 430EX II flash mounted on a 40D with the 24-70mm f/2.8L lens. I always get mixed results when I use the flash. I always shoot close to the subject and I seldom do group shots. I was wonderin', should I get the cloud LS or the clear LS? Or the collapsible LS?
I can't buy two at the same time but what will you suggest? As you may know, the 430EX II is not as powerful as the high end models such as the 580EX or the SB900.

Ryan,
I'm not sure what Gary is still selling, but I generally use a Cloud when I'm within about 10 feet. No hard and fast rule, but the Clear is, sometimes, a little more specular when too close to the subject.
I have a collapsible, but I don't 'love' it. ;-) I much prefer the older models.

@socalcamerapro Ohhh, if I just get the cloud. Can I still shoot subjects that are pretty far? I'll just take off the dome and point the flash at them? I'm sorry if I'm bugging you or something.

Ryan -- there are always trade-offs. To get the softer light, you give up a little distance. Do not take the dome off and point the flash directly at the subject -- that would defeat the purpose of using a diffuser. Instead, increase your ISO. If you do remove the dome, angle it at about 45 degrees, toward the subject.
