  • Why do people... look up stewart lee on you tube... watch it... then say... "I have never found this man funny, he is not funny, I have watched him loads, he does not make me laugh"

It suggests a certain mentalism. I don't look up Michael McIntyre videos for the same purpose.

I think maybe, not finding Stewart Lee funny makes people feel stupid and that bothers them. And that is sad. I wish they didn't feel like that. Because it does make them stupid and they should learn to accept it...

  • Did the narrating mallard at 2:44 remind anybody else of Ann from Little Britain?

  • After watching this clip, I felt I needed to research the mallard duck. Turns out Lee's facts were all true. They always struck me as such peaceful creatures, too.

  • @iamthegreatest2006 so just because this is a youtube comments section and not something like a televised political debate, people aren't allowed to be intelligent? Just out of curiosity, what comedian were you watching to get sent here?

  • @romannosejob As I said, if you see any comments of mine on youtube in future, please don't reply to them, because I have no interest in what you think. thanks.

  • @thedivers100 but other people might, and I intend to make a special point of finding your comments and replying to them now, and I will definitely be responding to any further replies you send me here.

  • @thedivers100 well it shouldn't matter if I reply to them or not. and public debate isn't necessarily about changing your mind, it's also because I think your initial statement was a load of bollocks and it doesn't deserve to go uncommented on in the public domain. if you don't want someone to critique your opinions, keep them private.

  • @thedivers100 the funny phrase I was referencing was "right on" and it was a criticism of your baseless attack on his belief system. I think your last sentence speaks volumes "you were trying to justify" maybe it's not justifiable, maybe i just find this funny and you don't. maybe i like different music and films too. you're not going to argue me into disliking it so why bother? stop projecting snobbery on to me, it's your issue, not mine.

  • @romannosejob I don't find anything intrinsically funny from this clip. The only reason I can imagine anyone wishing to laugh out aloud at this is to gain peer approval, and that is what I feel Stewart lee's 'comedy' act is based on.You may think comedy is a matter of the use of a 'funny phrase' but I think it goes deeper than that. I only watched this clip because I was puzzled as to why people consider Lee's material to be funny, and was trying to find something to justify that opinion.
