We came across this video researching Dreamkuts for a possible purchase, and your video (and the comments) were helpful. Thank you!

Hi ChelleBB
You are very welcome. This was a trial and error thing with the Dreamkuts.
I love mine but in the early days found that sometimes the card wasn't cutting straight.
There also seem to be a lot of people who wern't aware that the front slot of the Dreamkuts machine is only for 12" cardstock. It was the one piece of information that the manufacturers didn't cover in their own tuitional video.
Thanks for leaving a comment

Really sorry for the delay getting back to you. So your machine only cuts with the two blades not on the single one?
If you are using text weight paper and still have a problem, go back to where you bought the machine. I'm just a crafter like yourself and have no connection to the makers of the machine.

I just got one and tried it out....I was so dissapointed when I tested it out and the paper was not cut straight. This is the main reason I purchased it because I have a ton of paper cutters and none cut straight....and to have spent all this money and I get the same results....Did you finally get it to cut straight?

@sil2289 Hiya
Have another look at the tips in the video. The main reasons for the machine cutting 'wonky' I've found are:
1. Commercial paper isn't always cut square. It may say 12 x 12" etc but if you measure it, it isn't always! If the paper you put into the machine isn't square to itself the machine cannot cut it square.

2. Rushing! Take it slow. If your paper is square (the edges are truely at 90 degree angles to each other!) Then go slowly when placing the card into the machine. If you are cutting the paper in half you are going to be balancing the card on a single blade, so check that the paper is lined up at the sides for a straight cut.
When I've had problems, both these solutions seem to fix them.
Hope that helps.

Just read your blog now too; it's very good.
So are we correct in understanding that basically all this machine does is cut a single sheet of paper or card stock in half?
Unless a sheet happens to be exactly 12 inches wide, (in which case the machine can also cut in thirds), that appears to be all it does.
Of course, if you need to cut a sheet in half repetitively, this would be a tremendous help.
But if you need other paper sizes, it appears we'll need another cutter anyway.

Hi UK2AK
Thanks for your compliments on my blog :)
You are correct, a 12" long piece of card will cut into thirds in the front slot. Anything less that 12" can only be cut into half in the other slot. You can create a variety of sizes of card from an original sheet 12x 12" or less, It just takes a little planning.
PM me if you would like a list of sizes that were listed on the box the Dream cuts came in.
Best wishes
