Those coins are made of 88.5% copper, 6% zinc, 3.5% manganese, 2% nickel... which equates to a metal content of only 7 cents. This is historical fraudulent debasement.

Makes too much sense to use dollar coins over dollar bills. Saving the country near 500 million dollars a year if we got rid of the dollar bill makes too much sense. It's way to easy to use them. I use them all the time.

just boycott the coin when you get it (refuse it) together we can accept OUR OLD AND AWESOME currency. So when you get a dolllar coin (if you get 1) just ask for a bill instead. Easy peasy lemon squeasy.

The new Presidential dollars look terrible. They look like a souvenir of the Statue of Liberty. Putting "In God We Trust" on the rim is not appropriate. It lessens the term. Also, the "gold" wears off. they are too heavy to carry around.

Ummm...some do. Self checkout machines do, and some claw machines. Try it out and make note of ones that do. Print labels that say "Accepts $2 bills" and paste them on everyone you come across.
