The trail of comments here saddens me greatly. I am a traditionalist Roman Catholic, who has spent much time in the monasteries and churches of the great traditions of the East, both Catholic and Orthodox. I have spent time in the Sufist mosques of the Wadi Hadramaut, and in the most amazing shrine to St. John the Baptist in Damascus, venerated by Christians and Muslims alike, at the same time. My Godchildren in UK are divided between Catholic and Anglican. Matthew 7: 1-5 Read it. Behave.

Sorry, Mr. TheCrazyOboe, not only are Anglicans Catholic Christians, but the Real Presence of Christ is there in our Tabernacles, i attend an Anglo-Catholic parish and certainly know my stuff, you lie. Orthodox Christians are Catholic also, unfortunately many Anglican churches do not treat the Mass the same way we do, but a validly ordained priest when he says the words of consecration doth indeed make it the Body of Christ. Learn before you speak next time.

@TrainmasterCurt Wrong. It is Jesus Christ, not the satanic, unbiblical and antichrist catholic "church", my friend. Wake up, open your bible.

The Catholic Faith is much, much bigger than the Roman Church. You need to look up the meaning of the word "catholic"

Actually, i am just fine, it is the Catholic Faith, not the Pope, that saves us

That's one of the most misinformed statements I've read in years. In the eyes of Rome the anglican eucharist and it's ordination rite are invalid, but they still exist. So a priest with invalid orders consecrating elements will not be capable of a presenting a valid sacrament. That's how Rome views it I believe. What a world !

Mr TrainmasterCurt, you and all of your Anglo-Catholic brothers must return to home: Roman Catholic Apostolic Church, we are hoping and praying for you!
Cardinal Newman, in his book, "The Development of the Christian Religion," admits that ... "Temples, incense, oil lamps, votive offerings, holy water, holidays and season of devotions, processions, blessing of fields, sacerdotal vestments, the tonsure (of priests and monks and nuns), images ... are all of pagan origin..." (Page 359).

@kiwichristian2009 Mission has always always been contextual: Paul stood at the Aeropagus in Athens and started to preach from where the Athenians were - Jesus took the Law & the Prophets and built on them. The Church took pagan practices and Christianised them - Christmas in Winter? Easter? The Gospel transforms everything no matter where they come from, there is no need to get hung up on where things came from, but focus on what God does with them now...

This comment has received too many negative votes show
Anglicans are not one step away from being Catholic...they are not Catholic and are completely separated from Rome...that means that within the Anglican church there is no Eucharist, there is no Real Presence...

Ah, ecumenism at its best.
