This tutorial introduction for a new set that will be released on the DRIVE@ system and Steelpython systems of 3d-palace.com demonstrates the content of the UDK3 tutorial set that is to be released at the start of Feb. In this set Cris and ReqPro demonstrate the purpose and psychology behind sensible placement of assets and details that effect both the playability and the overall layout of your level and how you can change a level from something that is bland and little more than a disused pool into something that the player can read the history of the level from by just walking through it - thus immersing the player in the scene more.

  • Interesting video guys. I think more people need to think about prop placement and using UDK assets in interesting ways. Very useful in deed. I don't agree with the lighting set-up, I think an overall ambient light with a stronger point light would work much better as the player will be level wondering how to get to certain areas. I think subtlety is the key when lighting. Really good video though :) Thanks!

  • Great video, inspiring. Gonna check out your 3DS videos.
