I bought a 78rpm version of this number by the Saints Jazz Band (from Manchester) in 1951. It's a recording from the Festival Hall in London. Still have it. It was a show-stopper at the time.- Big royal jazz event. Probably been re-issued since then on LP and CD.

Thanks for you interest. Keep the comments coming. Tell us where you are. Forward the videos on to friends who may be interested. Jazz is universal.

  • yeeeeeeeeees!

  • I enjoyed this so much. Thankyou for posting. Excellent jazz enjoyed by the audience and the band.

  • I found this Excel Jazzmen performance after hearing a 1962 recording of it on the radio by the Jazz Missionaries. I searched youtube for it and think this is the best of the several versions I found. So completely enjoyable and so well done. It is fortunate this performance was captured and preserved, thanks!
