-and opened the personal antivirus folder which contained the uninstall icon with the same "gold shiled" picture. I clicked on the uninstall button and about 1 second afterwards a window pooped up and says the PAV is gone. i am going on the internet and it is no longer redirecting me to some fake website urging me to buy anti virus like it did before. im still kind of scared, how can i double check to see if it is gone?

I can't say if any of the antispywares would work or not. It is upto you to try and see if it has worked.
