  • Hi Dick,

I'm pretty familiar with Conklin and the Argumentation Theory that he built on. I expected it to be a great way to build visual ideas, but was always disappointed with what I saw. So I'm off on a tangent from that.

  • Jeff Conklin wrote "Dialogue Mapping" to describe a pretty clear way to do this with just a little structure. First, a question. Then one or more answers. Each answer can have multiple arguments pro and con about that answer to that question. It is striking how much knowing the actual question clarifies the idea/answer. This approach permits recording multiple viewpoints without degenerating into mush. He put up a YouTube video explaining why this is better than a transcript of the discussion.
