Yes, the material system is called Bayflex. It comes in a number of different systems. We currently mold Bayflex 110-40 and XGT 140. Our bumpers are made of the 100-50. Our lowest production run is about 150 parts. Call us if you need help in that area. Good luck!

@mypur Hello, We make PU car bumpers too... on a much smaller scale than you but of our own unique design. Would you tell me who's PU you use for bumpers...? It's just that we know of only one PU that has got a TUV approval for such parts and the German manufacturer that made it has discontinued it as they say there was not enough interest in it !!!! I would understand if you declined to tell me but a responce as a fellow PU injector would be much appretiated.

Is the Reaction Injection Molding (RIM) the same thing called "Integral Polyurethane"

We make large automotive bumpers using this technology and material system.

what is the cycle time???

@abcplastics
Generally we look for a 3mm wall section. This can reduced to 1-2 mm in localized areas pending the geometry and function of that feature. Cycle time is anywhere between a 2 and 10 minutes depending on the type of part being made, the geometry/size and the wall section. This is a thermoset process that requires cure. Call me for more reaction injection molding (RIM) with polyurethanes information at 248-628-2930. Thanks.

dear sir,
can you make bodykits as well ?as you know bodykits can be made by fiberglass and polyurethane ,how it works for polyuethane? do we need machine ?how much ?

@indra35
Yes, you could make body panels using this technology. You would need an aluminum tool in most cases. The cost of such will vary on the size of the panel, it's geometry and average wall section. You will also need a very large carrier system for the tool and a big enough wet system. Contact us for more information.
