Just finished my hike along the Minong. It was a fun time! I agree, the 11-12 miles between Desor N and Windigo is tough.

I did this section a few weeks after this video was taken. Pretty neat. I saw 2 moose on the way in to N.Desor camp and had seen a bull just off the trail between Little Todd and the Hatchet lake spur. The last stretch was a long one back to Windigo.

Questtrekin. Sorry for the delay in responding, but the Minong is less traveled than the Greenstone and is a bit more difficult. I think the additional solitude more than makes up for it, though, especially at that time of year.

I haven't personally done the Minong, but I worked on the island last year (and will be again this year), and from everything I've heard, the Minong is substantially more difficult than the Greenstone. I did the Greenstone from Windigo to Rock Harbor in just slightly over a day.
