10 hour late Westbound Southwest Chief

Amtrak's 10 hour late Southwest Chief pulls into Fullerton from Chicago and points east. This was certainly the most bizzare train of the day! It was part of Bizzare Train Day (BTD). BTD occurred when police activity north of Fullerton on Main Track 1 forced all trains onto the south track north of Fullerton.

a couple years ago when i was going on the surfliner to san diego 3 chiefs were late waiting for the southbound and 3 on the northbound surfliner geting off at fullerton. we were ended up on the sb track.

I've ridden the Southwest Chief and California Zephyr many times. They are often late due to priority dispatching given to freight trains. Personally I like to look at the lateness as getting extra time for free, enjoying the ambiance and scenery for longer than I paid.

U can count on Amtrak being late at all times.....but it is strange how THEY AMTRAK think they are late...IT seems when you finally get there....UR THERE ON THEIR TIME!!! Amtrak is using other people's tracks and that is why they are constantly late...Freight comes first.....AND I ask this...where are OUR high speed trains?
