I am also one of the original Elton John freaks. I first heard his music around 1972. I was about 14 years old. Everyone was buying 8 track tapes at the time. A friend purchased a cassette player and we listened to a recording of crocodile rock. I became an instant fan .I joined the RCA music club. I bought my first Elton albums on 8 track because I was sure that the new "cassettes' would be less durable !!!

I am now 48 years old and I remember seeing this interview special on television in its first airing. I can't remember which network featured it, ABC, CBS, or NBC, but I do remember demanding silence in the house so I could take in every word. I was definitely one of the original Elton John freaks. I used to live and breath Elton and Bernie. I had forgotten about this interview special. Wow, it takes me back.
