You have a good point, the ensemble could definitely make this really pop and make sense.

You have to think from an ensemble standpoint. Accents are what highlights the music, and without a full battery and pit, it probably won't make any sense. Bass drums normally are not the melody, and most of the crazy splits are quiet and tasty behind the melody, accenting key parts.

This was the bass feature. Without difficulty, it would have been boring.

To me, personally, it's not fun to listen to. I haven't seen any videos of the Rhythm X Bass Line that were fun to listen to. It's all just insane splits and runs. Are they good? Hell yeah. I just don't like the whole idea of, "Screw what sounds cool, let's play the hardest thing we can." That's the vibe I'm getting.

I've seen a few videos up here of the Rhythm X Bass Line, and there is a ton of skill, no doubt, but I really do not like the writing. The music doesn't have to be really difficult to be cool. You can lay down a groovy beat and throw some splits and runs in there for spice, but this stuff gets almost annoying to listen to.

I love RX 2007. They weren't about winning anything they just wanted to push themselves to their limit. Gotta love them
