i've been on this train alot of time from newark penn station to newyork penn station and back and i have to say these trains rock! really smooth

Both were built by budd, The arrows & silverliners however are different, just using a similar form factor. ABB did a rebuild on them in vermont. New motors & some other stuff.

They are multilevels, not bilevel. 2 totally different types of railcar. No they don't have traction motors in them.
-
And just im curiuos but theirs a rumor going around that the bilevels are not only capable as pushpull but they can turn into MU mode cause they have traction motors installed just incase the engine fails they can use the Electric via the pantagraph from the engine to power the Bi-levels traction motors. Dont know if this true!!!!! but its a good i dea but it would defeat the purpose of it being a push pull if the secret got out so i guess NJT is keepin their mouth close on that?????
how come they NJT NEC have no revenue service from trenton to philadelphias 30th street station?

Good question.

because that's septa division. they used to have the clocker service, which was the express from ny penn to trenton, but that was discontinued in 05. they use to haul 14 amfleets with one ALP-46!

They often had the septa shoreliners too.
