I hate to say this but to those who said buy the mx5 its because youre poor and assume other people are as poor as you. Now you have to realize people who buy these cars most likely can afford to put money into the car for mods and kick your moded mx5's ass. Moded mx5 vs moded boxster s.... hmmm

Not really....The average driver would never be able to tell the difference in the handling because the average driver will never get anywhere near the limits of either vehicle.
Arguably, the boxter does not look as nice as the Bimmer. But, that's just my opinion...I've always tended to think of both as girlie cars.

@uscgjake22 Having owned an 2006 MX-5 and now a 2008 Boxster S, I can say with certainty that you would end-up spending more than the entry cost of a New Boxster S getting the MX-5 half-way to the Boxster's performance window. I am not talking just str8 line performance either. You cannot, mod-in, what the Porsche brings to the table.

@xterra43 My opinion, buy the MX-5 and spend the extra cash you would have wasted buying the other 4 cars on mods..
