First assignment of the year for Ryerson Film, ended up looking pretty cool. Editing was done in After Effects and the music was a combination of Reason and Logic. Written over the course of three weeks, shot in one day, edited in four - save a few additional shots here and there. All work on set was handled by Max and I.

Written and Directed by
Patrick Cederberg & Max Lawlor

Starring : Walter Woodman
Narration : Michael Agostini
Director of Photography : Max Lawlor
Editing/Sound : Patrick Cederberg

Music was from an Apple Switch ad that aired years ago:

It's called "Spit" and it was composed by John Murphy. Dug the tune, but it was only long enough for the 30-second spot - so I figured out the music and rerecorded it in Reason with some extra strings and my guitar to give it a more appropriate 4-minute flow.

  • stumbled upon this video, pretty good, but maybe have the voice a bit louder and the music a bit lower so we don't have to struggle to hear the voice over the music. but other wise was entertaining and catchy tune

  • It upsets me how true to my life this is.

  • I don't know about you but i am in grade ten looking for a university for film, but am finding it very difficult to find a film that hopefully represents a good program. This looks really good and is the most persuading film i have seen. It could be the deciding factor.

  • How come I'm watching this for the first time now?! Amazing work guys, awesome editing and spot-on writing.

  • By far my favorite film all semester. This is like a manifesto for a generation.

  • I've watched this a million times cause I love it. only thing I would say is that the music is a bit too loud at some points?? hard to hear some of the great writing! :(

  • AWESOME!!!

  • Wonderful, wonderful writing. And, nice editing, Pat.
