My understanding is that the lights you see in the foreground are from Grant Wood Elementary. So just south of that school (across the street?)

I lived on Aster Avenue at the time this tornado hit..From the street, I couldn't see it too well because the condos across Lakeside were in the way, but I could clearly see them from my deck and it was the most surreal thing I had ever seen in my life

Yeah well, imagine being a block away and they only time you can see it is when there is lightening. Slightly more interesting!

yeah, at night on earth it gets dark, so things are illuminated artificially or in this case naturally by lightning
