21 August 2002 and the very first Atlas 5 launches from Cape Canaveral carrying Hotbird 6 into orbit. This launch carried some incredible on board footage. The last few seconds of the countdown, lift off and the climbout then some beautiful footage of the Earth passing underneath the rocket

Junk is difficult to dispose, so they track it. For bigger satellites or spacecraft, they have a designated "junk" orbit into which these vehicles are placed just before their end of life. But yeah, bunch of stuff up there.

  • BRAZIL!!

  • @skypeasshole Their orbits usually decay, and the burn up.

  • @skypeasshole the atmosphere, they usually endup burning up.

  • who take care of all space junk? old satelites and other things?
