  • Hi Davie, another great fly, what were the black rubber legs called i tied one of these by accident but never thought of putting legs on it could you use rubber bands instead, keep on sharing your skill with us its much appreciated. Regards Alan

  • Hi Alan,

The rubber legs I used are from Veniards and I bought them from the Glasgow Angling Centre, you could use whatever you like it's up to yourself...

    All the best Davie

  • Hi Nice Fly,

I have a question though. What kind of fish would you ketch with this?

  • Hi anosn122,

There's a few fish that you could catch using this fly, for me it would be brown trout and rainbows.

    All the best Davie

  • Great video Davie, I was struggling until I saw this. All ready to go for Assynt this weekend. When are you in? Last sunday of the mth? for some help

  • Hi TheProvobaby,

It's normally the first Sunday of each month but I'm not sure if I will be along as most tyers are fishing rather than tying now until the winter.. Glad you liked the fly...

    All the best Davie

  • Thanks Davie, fished these several times but never knew just how to tye them, very simple yet clear instructions, love fish'n these with a small (16-18) nymph trailer, thanks again.

  • Guy Turk from the USA designed this fly in the early 90's. He designed it for trout but I have used it for LargeMouth Bass and have caught Channel Catfish and Bluegill on it also. Excellent tying job Davie - the way you worked the legs into the Deerhair is a better way than I normally tie it !

    Thanks Buddy,

    Rick

  • I love this pattern. And thanks so much for another super-clear demonstration.

  • If I were the fish, I'd be jumping to get this fly hhhhhh.
