  • hey i have a question, how dp know wen they are fighting /attacking or play fighting? like my sisters kitten sometimes bites & sctracthes my hand ... is it playing wiht me or attacking me?

  • @LAYDEEYASMIN Almost always playing! Even if they get angry (with their ears flipped back and their tail bushy) it's just for play. They'll be happy again shortly!

  • It is my retarded, but correct, logic that anything with fur is invincible from falls. Cat falls off a 4 foot counter... runs off. Chipmunk falls from a window.. scampers away. Fur-less human trips over a curb... lawsuits, medical bills, psychological scarring, talk shows, magazine articles, weight gain, divorce, and disabled for life.

  • They're not fighting, they're playing.

  • Some cats puff up for play, some don't. So I get the confusion THERE. But cats also tend to growl and hiss when they mean it.

  • @LAYDEEYASMIN Believe me when a cat bites or real you'll know it.

  • @LAYDEEYASMIN -thought I'd put in my two cents-

Usually when they do that, they're playing... the way you can usually tell if they're not is that their tails and back fur will puff up, they'll yowl, and they tend to get a lot more aggressive than usual. Plus it'll get really scary and it'll be pretty obvious that it's time to back off. xD That's my opinion though.

Some cats like to play more aggressively than others. As joedrew said, it's almost always play. If they do pin their ears back, then look away and act submissive until they calm down. You'll know it's real attacking if you need stitches LOL Seriously though, real attacking would be hard/deep bites and scratches usually accompanied by growling or hissing, ears laid back, whiskers pinned back. It's hard to mistake for play once you've seen the real thing.

  • big yawn...

  • Pretty sure they are somewhat angry at each other. Look at their tails, straight up means happy, wagging means angry.
