Very cool German bottle recycling machine (sorry its on its side)

Crazy cool German bottle recycling machine, they are everywhere and they give you money! Sorry about it being on its side, cant quite figure out how to flip it (windows need I say more...). These things have been around since the 90s. Every time you buy a bottle you a bit extra (8 25 euro cents) so that you are encouraged to bring it back and then you get your cash back... very cool indeed.

Thanks for all the comments! The interest in this bottle recycling machine is that in Australia we don't have anything like this - in fact we don't have advanced packaging recycling laws that are in existence in Germany and in parts of the USA. We have one state. South Australia, where you get 10cents back for recycling but you have to take them back to the shop. Anyway point is, might seam odd to Germans and Americans but we find this sort of thing interesting in Australia!

It's really funny^^ I live in Germany and use such machines more than one times a week. I would never have guessed, that someone could be so excited about it... Well, we do live in a funny world, don't we :)

hahaha yea i like to save my bottles and tins untill 2 bags r full.......so i everytime have enouth "pfand" (refund) to buy some beer without taking money with me, helpfull cuz in some markets electronic purse only works with a sum over 5 euro. (spare the way to the bank)

That's a typical german solution...there once was a green party trying to force all shops to redempt beer cans to avoid litter. The result was no offering of cans anymore, less deposit glass bottles but funny new plastic bottles to be crushed after first use.

actually one of the better machines, probably from an edeka-market. there are some stupid versions around still.
