The VFR line has carried Honda's flag since the early '80s, when Honda realized that the motor from the old Sabre could, with appropriate tweaks, power the Interceptor. By the time bikes like Suzuki's GSX-R750 and Honda's own Fireblade had come along, Honda's race-rep V-Fours the RC30, then RC45 seemed exotic but somewhat beside the point.

The Interceptor, though, held on to devotees; riders who demanded performance but were unwilling to give up comfort to get it. The Interceptor line, in the last 25 or so years, has been Honda's premiere showcase; sometimes for desirable technology like the single-sided Pro Arm swingarm, sometimes for less-than-desirable tricks like V-TEC variable valve timing.

I have spent the last two decades takin the P**s outa Hondas'.....Now ..I am actually gobsmacked...by a Honda! looks more sports tourer, but looks sexy and classy. Well done HONDA!...a future classic methinks!!!

i had a 2008 vfr 800. i remember getting all excited about this new vfr 1200. . i was going to UPGRADE!!! then i saw this ugly piece of shit.... ill stick with its gorgeous older sister thankyou!

@circutracer150 you're right about not having $10k+ lying around, but OTOH your opinion here is just silly. In a word, the issue here is PRIORITIES. Not everyone has or even wants children. An economy car used just to get to work and back everyday costs well over this figure, there are plenty of guys, children or not, who will endure the personal inconvenience in apparal and even getting wet from time to time, to buy one of these instead. You have other priorities than a top drawer machine.
