ISU SPS Something Destructive - Blowing up the lounge chair - May 14, 2011

Idaho State University's Society of Physics Students chapter decided to blow up an old recliner we've had in the student lounge for quite a few years since it was going to be replaced with a new chair. We took it out to a remote location away from town, pumped the seat with oxygen gas and stuffed it with black powder, soaked it in gasoline, and lit it up!

Some of the video/stills have odd coloration because I shot them with an infrared filter, so that the detail in the flames wouldn't wash out quite so badly as it normally does without one.
