I wished I had stayed up to watch the Friese homerun but I had to be to work the next day. But I was there in 91 for Kirby's homerun. Two great Mississippi River cities now own two of the most dramatic moments in World Series history. How cool is that???

Say what you want (and he's not my favorite either) but Joe Buck is pretty damn cute.

Cute? I always thought he looked a Marine jarhead or maybe an aryan youth. Not a good tv face.

At first, I thought so too. Then I realized little Joe had a brain fart and couldn't think of anything original to say.

And the national television audience for each heart-thumping moment heard nearly the identical home run call. The first from Jack Buck: "And we'll see you tomorrow night."
Thursday's call came from Joe: "We will see you tomorrow night."
Tim McCarver was the announcing partner in each instance
