Have you ever watched some interview/documentary on TV where an effect where the character pops out of the scene a bit in kind of an abstract way? Well...today I'm going to show you an easy way to accomplish this effect. Although the demonstration is a bit lengthy, this effect can be achieved in what? 5 minutes or less with practice. Great way to introduce the new characters in your new web series. 8)

Get editing and have fun! **Remember...your creativity is the limit. If you feel you can take this effect to the next level, please do! I'd love to see in video responses what you created.

  • You got this idea from Storage Wars... ;]

  • @XvEmoKittyvX YES! I've seen this effect being used a lot on other shows...but when watching Storage Wars yesterday...just clicked "I bet I can do that on my own!"...and well..got to recording.

  • You know there's a tool in Vegas in which some people call masking. It does the same thing but requires ALOT more time and effort. It basically just cuts a piece out of a video. In return, its much more detailed and cleaner. I say that because I used to use Vegas alot years ago, and that cut looks really sloppy to me. No offense. You can also use Chroma Keyer to take out a particular color, and use blur to try and hide the ridges around the sides.

  • @SVRUltimate Yes, but I like photoshop, I can add the outline (actually not sure if I can add the outline in vegas) and have much more flexibility over the effect of the cut out image. **Can totally alter it if I wanted. Cut looks sloppy because its a tutorial and I didn't take the time to correctly focus the camera/make a good selection. I'm just here to give people the main idea of how this is done...Personally I'm happy with the video. ** the word "ALOT" is spelled "a lot".
