I am a die hard Elvis Fan. No one has ever done this better. Elvis made this song. He was America's son. A man who step away from fame and fortune to answer America's bugle call, hanging up his guitar and his blue suede shoes in exchange for a rifle and combat boots. Elvis served with a tank unit! Patriotic. But, these fellas here are as pure as a baby's soul. They are, without a doubt, good at what they do. They love God and country and this song fits them in their own way.

Been friends of the Osmonds for more than 40 years. Fantastic family. But as good as this version is, I have to say that Elvis OWNS this song. He being a southern boy himself, he sang this with unmatched emotion, as only the king of rock and roll could. Check out his version sang during his Aloha from Hawaii concert.

I saw them sing this live, in 2001. They had a video montage playing with patriotic and Christian symbolism. Very touching.

I saw Alan Wayne and Merrill at Wembley Arena in 1985 during this phase of their careers and they were fabulous. The country style really suited them and yes, they did look so handsome. I remember giving Alan a hug and his aftershave smelt so gorgeous. I have a photo of us together and I have the biggest beaming smile ever! Memories... wonderful ones :)
