Custom SMS Tone for iPhone

Today ill be showing you how to add custom sms tones to your phone!

YOU MUST BE JAILBROKEN!!!!

First off download these 3 programs.

iPhone Browser
WavPad Sound Editor
afc2add (off cydia)

Use Wav to make your sms tone, then save it as a .aiff to desktop.
Open iPhone Browser then go to system/library/audio/uisound
Now find sms-recieved6.caf and delete it.
Rename your sms tone on your desktop to the same name of the file you deleted.
Now drop and drap into iPhone Browser and done!

which iphone OS are u using because i av jailbroken iphone 3gs OS 4.1 & tone is also silent after transferring it into iphone+respringing it,i av done everything correctly several times & its still silent (i wud reccomend changing old tone to .bak for back up incase it doesnt work) im not sure ive read somewhere that it doesnt work on OS 4.1 thats why im asking which u are using,thanks

PS there is an app that will allow u to assign 1 custom sms tone to your phone,it called ANYRING

@100pru Anyring uses your ipod to play the "ringtone" and i didnt like that app very much, rather crappy and poorly made =\

I dont remember what iOS i was on, knowing me it was prolly 3.1.3. iPhone browser auto back ups the sms tone you delete.

@Impulse209 thanks for reply,i know that this does work on some iOS but it doesnt on my iOS 4.1,yes AnyRing does use a song from your ipod & u can shorten it for either a 'ringtone' or 'sms tone' but u can transfer tones uve made in itunes or on PC into your ipod for it to use & its had a recent update although it is £3.99 after a 10day trial which i think is steep but i haven't found anything else for 'sms tones' as yet if your method isnt compatable,if u know of any other app id be grateful :)

@100pru I haven't been caught up-to-date with apple products, my iPhone took a crap on me and i had to get a free android :[ but ill look around for you

It tells me that "iPhoneBrowser Has Stopped Working" don't know why..

The thing is i can't open it. And i downloaded and installed the afc2add and everything

@Impluse209 thanks for the video, i was wondering how would you lower the volume of the custom sms you made?? i tried adjusting it in itunes but no luck do you know how else could i make it a bit quieter? mines is too loudd
